Course Description

The ETC University Foundation Programme (available in Business, Computing, or Engineering) is aimed at students wishing to enter a UK university. The course prepares students for studying at undergraduate degree level.

Course Intensities

Course Duration

24 weeks. Please note, some classes may be delivered online. 36 week course available in combination with English for Academic Purposes classes.

Entry Requirements

You will need an RQF Level 2 or equivalent (AS-Levels / High School Diploma).

English Entry Qualification:
5.0 IELTS or equivalent.

Students with 4.5 IELTS equivalent may study subject to 12 week Global English booking prior to starting a UFP.

Certificate

Upon successful completion of the course you will be presented with a University Foundation Diploma in Business, Computing or Engineering.

This course is designed for students wishing to study Business and related subjects at undergraduate level at a UK-based university.

Study Options

On-Site

Study face-to-fact at ETC in Bournemouth, England. You'll receive lessons through lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials, with the full college experience: social activities, accommodation options and daily contact with students from around the world.

Online

Study from home with live online lectures, seminars and tutorials, supported by our Learning Management System. You'll have access to digital learning resources, an online library, discussion forums and e-portfolios, with regular one-to-one tutorials to keep your progress on track.

Support is available throughout your course, including online induction, technical help, academic counselling and welfare support.

Course Structure

Subjects

Every University Foundation Programme combines subject knowledge with the academic and English skills needed for degree-level study. All programmes include:

Subject fundamentals in your chosen field (Business, Computing or Engineering)

English for Academic Purposes, including Academic and Digital Competencies and Advanced Writing and Research Skills

Subject-specific Global English classes in Business, Computing or Engineering

Experienced Staff

Staff hold a relevant qualification at least one level above the subject level they are teaching and hold a relevant teaching qualification.

Staff come from a range of backgrounds, including academic and industry specialisms. From time to time we may invite guest lecturers or subject specific specialists to take lectures / seminars.

Staff teaching English modules hold a CELTA or CertTESOL qualification.

World-class education

University Progression

ETC International College has progression agreements with Bournemouth University and De Montfort University. On successful completion of selected ETC courses, students are guaranteed progression to complete their degree at Level 6, subject to meeting the required academic records.

We also have partnerships with universities across the UK and our University Counsellor supports every student through their application.
