Bath, Brighton and Bristol are all nearby, and London is just 2.5 hours away by coach or train.
Locally, there is so much to discover. Visit the stunning New Forest National Park, take a boat trip to Brownsea Island, explore the historic ruins of Corfe Castle, or walk along the famous Jurassic Coast. With so many places to visit, every day can be a new adventure.
New Forest

Discover the New Forest National Park. Take a walk through acres of heathland, hire a bike or ride a horse. There is plenty of nature to explore in the New Forest and wild ponies are a common sight.
BH2 Centre

One of Bournemouth’s newest attractions, the BH2 Centre, contains a dining hall, cinema and plenty of other activities to take part in.
Corfe Castle
Local Trip
Corfe Castle is a historic ruin built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it served as a royal fortress for centuries. It was partially destroyed during the English Civil War and now stands as a dramatic and picturesque reminder of medieval history.
Brownsea Island

Take a ferry to Brownsea Island and explore a truly natural environment. Look out for the red squirrels, which are nearly extinct in the rest of the world; Brownsea Island is home to nearly 200 of them!

Just 2-and-a-half hours from Bournemouth, London is a bustling city with something to do day or night. Famous worldwide for its rich history, Houses of Parliament and active nightlife, London is a must-see.
Southampton
Full-Day Trip
Just an hour from Bournemouth, Southampton is a historic port city. The Mayflower, which famously carried the Pilgrims to America in 1620, departing from Southampton in August of that year.
Bath
Full-Day Trip
Famously known for its Roman Baths, the city of Bath is home to ancient Roman architecture, and an aesthetic unlike anywhere else in the UK. Just 90 minutes from ETC by bus, Bath is highly recommended.
Brighton

Unique, quirky, eccentic; Brighton is a melting pot of cultures. Well known for its favour among artistic folk, and for its beautiful beaches, Brighton is only 2.5 hours from Bournemouth by bus.
Activities
Bike Rides
Ride bikes around Bournemouth and along the sunny beaches with friends. Get some exercise whilst taking in the sights of the local area.
Table Tennis
We have a couple of ping-pong tables available for students to use any time on campus. In the summer we sometimes hold competitions, too!
Volleyball
Beach volleyball remains one of our most popular seasonal activities. If you are studying during a time of the year when the weather is warm, get down to the beach!
Arts & Crafts
Most weeks we run and arts, crafts and conversation club for students wishing to flex their creative side and also practise their English skills with fellow students.
