We provide a free adult activity programme throughout the year. Junior students who enrol on a full Junior programme will have all their activities and excursions included. You can get an idea of the activities we offer by viewing the past 12 months of activities offered to adult students further down this page.

Our activities programme varies throughout the year so please use the past activities timetables as an example only - the activities available during your time of study may vary!

We run a free activities programme each week, consisting of football, volleyball, badminton and basketball. Keep fit, meet new friends and practise your English!

Library

ETC’s library is packed with learning resources, stationary and equipment to aid you learning. We also have a free DVD library so you can enjoy learning English outside of the classroom.

Top things to do in and around Bournemouth

  • In the summer there are many activities in Bournemouth, including candle lighting ( a 100 year-old tradition) and free fireworks.
  • Bournemouth square in the winter is packed with festive decorations and a seasonal market offering souvenirs, refreshments and a fantastic atmosphere!
  • Take a ferry to Brownsea Island and explore a truly natural environment.
  • Take a walk through Bournemouth Gardens and experience miles of beautiful scenery.

Where can I visit?

London

The capital of England is one of the most eclectic cities in the world. Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, shopping on Oxford Street; you may need more than one trip!

Perfect for an afternoon walk in the summer. It has 3 fantastic beaches around it and you could even combine this trip with a visit to Corfe Castle for an afternoon to remember!

Bath

Known for its natural hot springs and 18th Century architecture, the rolling countryside of Bath promises visitors to the city a great day out. Today’s visitors can soak in the waters at the Thermae Bath Spa.

Oxford

One of the most famous University towns in the world, steeped in history and full of stunning architecture. Most recently it was one of the locations for the Harry Potter films.

New Forest

Ancient hunting ground established by William the Conqueror in 1079, but 1000 years later is has changed very little – the wilderness, heath land and woods are still intact and wild ponies are a common sight.
