ETC's English for Firefighting course is designed for trainee and professional firefighters, fire safety specialists and emergency response personnel who need to communicate clearly and confidently in operational, technical and safety related contexts. The programme develops the specialist English used across firefighting roles, from understanding equipment and procedures to responding to incidents and coordinating with teams and the public.
Students gain the vocabulary, language structures and communication strategies required in areas such as fire behaviour, suppression techniques, emergency procedures, equipment handling, hazard assessment, rescue operations and fire prevention. The course provides a practical, real world learning environment supported by task based activities, group work and scenario based discussions.
Participants may also progress to further theoretical and practical firefighting training through ETC’s partner organisation, offering a pathway to advanced civilian or military firefighting skills.
