Course Aim

The International Year 2 Aviation Management course prepares students for progression to year 3 of an appropriate degree, RQF level 6 or equivalent. 

The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to follow a relevant degree or career path.

The course consists of 8 units.  Each unit consists of 60 hours of teaching and 90 hours of recommended personal study time.  Guided learning hours may be provided as lectures, seminars or tutorials.

Students will study content in relation to the following subject areas:

  • Research Project (double unit)
  • Aviation Health, Safety and Security 2
  • Aviation Operations Management 2
  • Aviation Economics 2
  • The Aviation Business Environment 2
  • Market Analysis and Forecasting 2
  • Professional Communication and Employability Skills 2

Please note, some lessons may be delivered online.

Course Information

Minimum Level Requirements

English Language Requirement: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent with no less than 5.0 in any skill.
Qualification: Foundation RQF level 4 or equivalent in a relevant qualification (BTEC HNC or ETC International Year 1 in Aviation Management).

Minimum age: 18 years +

Assessment

Assessment may take the form of individual and team based projects and presentations / seminars, tests, personal learning journals, exams, continuous assessment, portfolios, mind maps and organising events, which are all based on the College's fair assessment policy.

Certificates and Credits

Upon successful completion of the course you will be presented with an ETC International Year 2 in Aviation Management.
The awarding body is:
ETC International College
Graduates of this course will receive 120 credits (students will have 240 credits after successfully completing year 1 and 2).

Course Start Dates

Students can join the course in September. Applications for other start dates may be considered on a case-by-case basis after assessing the individual's prior learning.

General Level / Experience of Staff

Staff are qualified to at least one level above to the level they are teaching and hold a relevant teaching qualification.
Staff come from a range of backgrounds, including academic and industry specialisms. From time to time we may invite guest lecturers or subject specific specialists to take lectures / seminars.

Staff teaching English modules hold a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL qualification.

Fees and Other Relevant Costs

Tuition fees for new students: £16,600 (this includes a £100 non-refundable enrolment fee). Tuition fees for existing or continuing students: £16,500 per annum.
Field Trips: costs will be charged as incurred, but will not exceed £200 per annum. Field trips are optional and do not contribute to the overall assessment.
Books: a range of books are recommended to supplement teaching and are purchased at the discretion of the student. All recommended texts are available in the College library for reference purposes.

All students are tested in English, maths and IT after registration at ETC. Additional support classes in English are included in the cost, if required.
